One of the most popular ruin bars in Budapest is the vibrant and whimsical Fogas Haz (aka Toothy House), a fusion of nightclub, a community arts centre and a ruin pub, which offers not only budget-friendly prices and a labyrinth sized huge dance floor (various dance floors to be more precise), but a wide range of programs throughout the week, including film screenings, exhibitions and theater performances.
Check out some of the 7 dance floors and 15 bars in the maze of this huge ruin bar. By day time, it’s good to chill out, by night time it turns into a busy place, especially over the weekends. It’s also one of the places to visit on pub crawls in Budapest (although pub crawl venues tend to change with the seasons)
Fogas Haz is simply a perfect place in Budapest to hang out, take a drink and mingle with the locals as well as international tourists, or have an all-nighter.
That said, no place is perfect on the face of the earth, so the place gets occasional bad reviews, especially if they are already quite intoxicated and rowdy when trying to get in. In addition, some visitors seemed to have bumped into an unfriendly bouncer, bartender, so there’s room to improve.
If you are looking to visit Fogashaz and the best ruin bars in Budapest, why not do it during a bar crawl? Get yourself booked with a professional guide, receive drinks and enjoy the pub games!
